Setting the Stage — the skills behind the show.

A community and training programme from greenroom, building high-end finance and operations skills in the people who keep creative organisations running.

The arts, theatre and television run on hugely talented people, most of whom were never trained for the quirks of the sector. Finance leads meet conventions no textbook covers, while directors, producers and operations managers find themselves running budgets and systems no one taught them. Setting the Stage is for all of them, whether or not they’re numbers people.

  • For finance & non-finance people. High-end skills for the numbers people; budgets, board packs and systems made plain for everyone else.
  • A member newsletter. Regular, practical updates for the people running the function.
  • Member-led case studies. Real, anonymised problems written up, with members voting on which get tackled next.
  • In-person sessions. Practical sessions led by greenroom and expert contributors, run up and down the country.

  • Community & surgeries. Peer support and live problem-solving: the room you always wished you had.
